The Empathic House is offered to the visitors of the 58th Venice Biennial as the home of the good host, the house that the mestizo and alluvial Uruguayan society built. The history of cultures is the history of mestizajes and migrations. The house we propose for the Uruguay Pavilion is the house of a world that shares and harmonizes cultures as well as vital and imaginary experiences. The cardinal axis marked by the architecture and geographical location of the Uruguayan Pavilion in the Giardini gives us a unique and extraordinary possibility: to claim an identity as hybrid, diverse and cross-border as belonging to a place in the South.

La Casa Empática se ofrece a los visitantes de la 58ª Bienal de Venecia como la casa del buen anfitrión, la casa que la sociedad mestiza y aluvial uruguaya construyó. La historia de las culturas es la historia de los mestizajes y de las migraciones. La casa que proponemos para el Pabellón de Uruguay es la casa de un mundo que comparte y armoniza culturas, experiencias vitales e imaginarios. El eje cardinal marcado por la arquitectura y la ubicación geográfica del Pabellón uruguayo en el Giardini nos brinda una posibilidad única y extraordinaria: reivindicar una identidad tan híbrida, diversa y transfronteriza como perteneciente a un lugar al Sur.
